How to calculate kitchen sqft
Most people don't realise — kitchen sqft pricing isn't floor area, it's cabinetry area (vertical face area of all cabinets including base, wall, tall units).
Quick estimation method:
- Measure linear running feet of cabinets (e.g. L-shape = 6 ft + 8 ft = 14 ft total)
- Multiply by average cabinet height (3 ft for base + 2.5 ft for wall = 5.5 ft total)
- 14 × 5.5 = 77 sqft
